The town of Grantsville is the county seat of Calhoun County. The town was established along the Little Kanawha River in 1865 and named for Ulysses S. Grant.
Population, 561 (as of 2010 US Census); it has one volunteer fire department; elections are held every two years on the second Monday in April; officials take office within 10 days of election.
