Meeting Minutes
The Board of Directors of the Little Kanawha Area Development Corporation (LKADC) held its regular meeting on Monday, October 17, 2005 at 7 p.m. in Elizabeth WV at the WVU Extension Service building. A quorum of members were present or represented by proxies. Members present: Dan McDonald, Alvin Engelke, Bryan Sims, Ken Stempowski, Dick Ullum. Member proxies: Donnie Pitts, Robert Lowe, Larry McCallister. Guest, Sarah Holt, staff for Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation. Diane Ludwig, LKADC staff, was present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. Motion Alvin Engelke, second Bryan Sims. Financials were reviewed and approved with motion by Bryan Sims, second by Alvin Engelke.
Sarah Holt gave a talk concerning the activities of the Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation. She explained the Babcock challenge grant that the group had received and encouraged the board to let her know of any business folks they thought she should visit.
Members were updated on the progress of negotiations with the Forestland Group regarding purchase of a large piece of property by an area developer, and by the progress of the LKADC’s negotiations with them regarding a purchase price for the property located at the intersection of Rt. 5 and Bonnette Rd.
Diane gave an update about the project involving the former Grantsville Hotel building. The group discussed loans and projects the LKADC is currently involved with.
The meeting was adjourned. Next meeting will be Tuesday, February 28th, 2006, in Grantsville.
