LKADC MEETING MINUTES
February 21,2005
The Little Kanawha Area Development Corporation had its regularly scheduled board meeting Monday February 21, 2005 in Grantsville WV at the Calhoun County Center on Aging Building at 7:00 p.m. Members present were, Larry McCallister, Neil Blankenship, Alan Rollins, Alvin Engelke, Robert Lowe, Dan McDonald. Member proxies: Donnie Pitts, Bryan Sims, Dick Ullum, Jim Morford. Staff present: Diane Ludwig.
December 2004 minutes were reviewed. Alvin Engelke made a motion to accept, second by Neil Blankenship. Minutes approved.
Neil Blankenship made a motion to accept current financials. Robert Lowe seconded. Motion approved.
Alan Rollins was introduced as our new board member. Welcome, Alan!
Motion was made by Alvin Engelke to approve a new one-year contract with Diane Ludwig to run from March 5, 2005 to March 4, 2006. Robert Lowe seconded. Motion approved.
Director’s report included information on Dean Richards Metal Fabricating, Miller’s Salvage Grocery, Corner Café; Mustang Survival, loan activity, Mingo Bottom Golf course, NYA building, Industrial Park in Calhoun, Property purchase in Wirt, Sisters of St Joseph projects in both counties, Budget Digest request, and all the fine fun we’re having with the MOV Health Department in both counties.
Update on a few activities by the LKADC: grant funds we have assisted in bringing into both counties in the last 3 years-$296,000 (that’s not counting our new USDA grant either); Microloans made-10, jobs created through those loans-35; assistance given in obtaining of larger business loans-2.

Next meeting of the LKADC board will take place on Monday, April 18th, 2005 at 7 p.m. in Grantsville at the CCCOA building. (We are repeating the location instead of alternating this particular time because there is a community foundation meeting taking place in Grantsville at 5:00 p.m. on that same day. A few folks need to be at both meetings so this is to help make things easier for them.
